For the first time in nearly 28 years, MAGGIE MAE DESIGNS® is offering the “Derby Dozen Hat Collection”. A Derby hat collection of one dozen couture silk Derby hats that are one-of-a-kind collectibles.
Cape Cod milliner, Sally Faith Steinmann chose 2026, the Year of the Fire Horse to debut this new hat gallery. The Year of the Fire Horse which begins on February 17th is a time of turning point breakthroughs and bold action. And that is just what this hat collection is all about!
Each hat in the collection was inspired by an idea – a rose, a dahlia, an anemone or a poppy. Flowers that Sally saw in the many “beaux jardins” she passed by on her Cape Cod photography hikes. Flowers that as a fabric artist she dreamed of recreating in silk fabrics, veiling, buttons and beads.
TREASURED LUXURY HATS
Sally crafted all of her “Derby Dozen” chapeaux in the finest silks, using eco-friendly materials whenever possible. Innovative hat trims and intricate beadwork are all features of Sally’s newest line of luxury hats.
And as true one-of-a-kind-creations these hats, once they have sold, will never be recreated.

Sizing: Sally creates all of the hats in this new gallery collection with a custom “Silver Lining” silk insert for size adjustment. Please send us your hat size in inches to ensure that a particular hat is a good fit. For instructions on how to measure for hat size please click here. The fascinators and cocktail hats attach with elastic and combs for easy wear and stability.
