The Chartreuse Anemone hat by MAGGIE MAE DESIGNS® is a wide brim design. It was created in black dupioni silk with a contrasting chartreuse dupioni silk underbrim.
The word anemones translates to “wind flowers” from the Greek. Sally’s passion for these dancing wind flowers inspired the trim style for this hat. Four anemone-shaped floral designs with chartreuse dupioni silk rose curl centers and five black silk organza petals adorn the hat from front to back. The petals were topstitched with chartreuse thread for added detail.
A medley of chartreuse dupioni silk leaves was fashioned to frame each anemone flower for a contrasting element.
A pleated chartreuse dupioni silk sash was handcrafted and sculpted to surround the crown. Swirling layers of chartreuse tulle were handstitched to cover the entire brim, making a soft bed for the anemone flowers.
For one added bit of sophisticated elegance, a black pebble button was stitched to the back seam of the hat. It was chosen for its swirling pattern which reminds us once again of the anemone’s name of origin, “wind flower”.
