I love the look of the Spartina Grass as she changes into her Autumn wardrobe.

Here on Cape Cod, cooler weather is settling in at our saltmarshes…

And the tall blades of grass are turning from green to warm golden yellow, olive and chestnut brown.

Watching this metamorphosis sets me to wondering…
Wouldn’t these colors make an interesting chapeau design?
Thank you for letting me share my Cape Cod home with you…

Oh I can’t wait to see the new design. I have loved the others. Those colors are beautiful. I live in Charleston SC and our grasses haven’t changed yet.
Hi Colleen, thank you so much for your kind words about the new designs I have been posting. It’s been an exciting and surprising process, with the new Cape Cod-inspired styles emerging much sooner than I expected! It is fun to think of how the season “shows itself” in our seaside communities at different times! I shall be interested to hear when you begin to see signs of the Spartina grasses color changes where you are in SC as the season moves along. Cannot wait to share the new hat design here next week. What began as a “polka dot story” turned into a “Cape Cod story” and I could not be more pleased… 🙂
