The Polkadots and Pearls hat by MAGGIE MAE DESIGNS® is a wide brim design inspired by Sally’s custom black and cream hatboxes. To mirror the hatboxes, a jumbo black and cream polka dot fabric was selected for the hat foundation. A cream dupioni silk underbrim adds a flattering bit of surprise when the wearer’s face is upturned.
A rippling triple brim ruffle in black silk organza lined with ivory silk was stitched to the edge of the brim. A fancy black braiding was added as the perfect accent to the triple ruffle. The Polkadots and Pearls chapeau is both sophisticated and playful!
A black silk satin bow and sash lined with black silk organza is the centerpiece of the trim design.
Sally created six tiny black silk organza roses with pearl button centers nested in loops of shiny black beads to adorn the bow.
A medley of five long black silk organza “feathers” was crafted to frame the bow; kicking the drama of this design to a whole new level!
Finally a delicate trim ornament featuring a black pebble button with “butterfly loops” of black tube beads was handstitched to the back seam. This chapeau is as lovely in her departure as she is in her arrival…

Hat Size: this hat was created with a custom “Silver Lining” silk insert for size adjustment. Please send us your hat size in inches to ensure this hat is a good fit. For instructions on how to measure hat size please click here.
Dimensions: 3 inch tall crown, 7 and 1/2 inch wide brim (including ruffle); entire hat measures 22 inches end to end.
